Biennial plant native to Europe and Asia. The velvety leaves are what gave its common name mullein, which is derived from the Latin “mollos” meaning soft.
Mullein is used to improve respiratory system ailments.
For an infusion, use one teaspoon of dried leaves to one cup of boiled water. Before drinking any preparation made with white mullein, it is important to strain it through a fine muslin cloth to eliminate the tiny hairs which can cause irritation in the throat.
